When the mind finally goes quiet… and it feels like too much and not enough.

"What do you say when you have nothing to say?"

That's what I asked God this morning.

I came empty.

No poetic prayer. No long discourse. No journaled verse. No words to say.

Just a quiet, blank surrender.

But then I was reminded…

Stillness is sacred, too.

For those of us who live in the marathon of our minds, where thoughts race, plotting, solving, dissecting, overanalyzing, and spiral on repeat, silence feels foreign. Almost dangerous.

When an over-thinker's mind becomes still, when the chatter finally rests and clarity emerges, we panic. We force ourselves back into the familiar chaos: "What's happening? Where did the thoughts go?” What should I be thinking about? This quiet feels wrong." What am I supposed to do with this stillness?”

We try to think our way out of the quiet

instead of receiving what the quiet came to offer.

But what if it's not wrong?

What if it's rest?

The soul doesn't always need fireworks.

Sometimes it just needs air.

Room to breathe. Room to be. Permission to simply exist without producing.

"In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength." - Isaiah 30:15

For the one whose mind never stops running, your stillness isn't emptiness, it's arrival.

So, if today you're in that quiet place, not low, not high, just… Here. I invite you to pause with me.

No pressure to perform healing.

No need to manufacture joy.

No pretending to have it all figured out, or to be “okay.”

No forcing thoughts that aren't ready to come.

Just be.

Breathe.

Be present.

Trust the pause.

Let the silence speak.

And let this truth settle in:

You are still standing.

Even in the silence.

Even in the blank spaces.

Even when your mind finally stops racing.

That quiet you're feeling? That's not nothing.

That's holy ground.

Today's Soul Whisper Prompt: "What is the silence trying to teach me today?"

Pause. Breathe. Listen. Let the answer rise gently.

From my heart to yours
